A Message from our Chair:

Welcome to our website. I hope that you will find all that you need.

Southeast Essex Schools’ Music Association was set up to promote the enjoyment and appreciation of music throughout all schools in the area irrespective of age, sex, ethnicity, religious beliefs or ability.

The has meant that the association has organised two music festivals. A Key Stage One festival held at Kings Road U. R. Church, Westcliff and a Key Stage Two festival held at the Cliffs Pavilion.

The organisation of these two events falls, in the main, to the hard-working committee. The committee is made up primarily of serving full time teachers who want to ensure that as many children as possible have the experience of making music together and performing it to a live audience. We believe that involvement in these events aids learning, promotes teamwork, builds self-esteem and supports mental health. The making of music is a powerful tool in an educator’s workbox and it needs to be fostered and encouraged.

Music, and the making of it, is food for the soul.
